‘Tis the season to be an underdog! This is your official invitation to show us your rescue cat or dog to be featured in our social advent calendar.

Do you and your adopted pet go crazy for the Christmas season? Love to post pictures of their hilarious antics and adventures on your social accounts?

What if you had the opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve, and help a good cause at the same time?

As cute as they are, it’s time to break the cycle of puppy and kitten content at Christmas. December 2021 is the year of the underdog – and you’re invited to get involved.

An underdog advent calendar – what’s it all about?

The Petgevity advent calendar campaign will spotlight a total of 25 rescued cats and dogs throughout December, right up until Christmas day.

The chosen pets will be featured in our social advent calendar and shared on our social media platforms throughout the month. Even better, their humans also get to pick a UK registered charity to receive a £50 donation from us.

If your dapper pup or sassy feline is one of the winners, you’ll be contacted either via direct message or in the comments of the competition post.

All winners will be chosen at random because, let’s be honest, it would be far too difficult to pick between all the entries.

How do I enter my rescue pet?

You can enter your cat or dog via Facebook or Instagram, and there’s a few things you’ll need to do when you submit your entry. The deadline to enter is Tuesday 30 November, so don’t dig your paws in!

Add a comment to the competition post.
Include a picture of your underdog (or cat).
Write a short bio with their name, age, story, and why they should be chosen.

> Entering via Instagram

Follow the Petgevity Instagram account.
Upload a picture of your rescue with their name, age, and a short bio about their rescue story.
Remember to use the hashtag #PetgevityChampion and tag us in your post.

Meet Pickle

To start the campaign, we’d love to introduce you to our very first advent entry, Pickle, in partnership with Blue Cross.

After going through struggles in several homes when he was just a puppy, he finally came to the Southampton team at Blue Cross. Finally, a thorough health check brought something unknown to light – Pickle was deaf.

Thanks to expert behavioural help, Pickle was trained with hand signals instead of voice cues. That’s right, this smart little pup learned sign language.

Pickle has since become more alert and enthusiastic, and is thriving in a loving home with his new owners. Pickle’s happy ending wouldn’t have been possible without donations. We’re giving Blue Cross £50 to help fund their ongoing efforts to support other underdogs.

Competition Ts and Cs

• Entries will be selected at random from both Facebook and Instagram.
• Facebook participants will need to follow the Petgevity Facebook page and submit their entry in the comments section of the competition post.
• Instagram participants will need to follow the Petgevity Instagram page and use the hashtag #PetgevityChampion when posting content for the competition.
• If your Instagram account is private, you’ll need to send your picture to us separately or ask us to follow you for us to see your entry.
• Each chosen entry will receive a charitable donation to the value of £50 directly to their chosen UK registered animal charity.
• By entering your content to be used within the Advent Calendar, you give Petgevity permission to use the content for future promotion on social media.
• All entries must be submitted to us by 30 November 2021 for consideration in the competition.
• No purchase necessary.
