We’re unable to offer cover for the following breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act, or any dog that’s crossed or mixed with them:

• Pit Bull Terrier
• Dogo Argentino
• Japanese Tosa
• Fila Brasileiro
• XL Bully

The Dangerous Dogs Act was introduced in 1991 following a number of serious attacks on members of the public. The breeds listed above are prohibited in the UK unless the dog is registered on the Index of Exempted Dogs and meets strict legal conditions.

We’re unable to offer insurance for any of these breeds, whether exempted or not.
